  1. OMG! I just posted on your site about wanting to find out more about my family from Cordenones and provided some of those names (Ius, Scian, Tedesco, ROMANIN), and lo and behold, I check this page and see you also have Romanin as a surname in your family. We may be related! My Nonna Mary Ius (maiden name, Scian), my father's mother, is from the Romanin line, as it was HER mother's maiden name before marrying her father (Augusta Romanin, I believe is my paternal great-grandmother's name). Then again, Romanin could be a very common name in this region of Italy, like Smith here? I don't know. I do know that Nonna Mary's brothers all migrated to South America (Argentina) before WWII began in Europe and I have some relatives there who are named Scian, as well as some Scians in Toronto, Canada. Let me know if any of these lines ring a bell, because Romanin certainly resonates with me. Thank you for listening/reading.

    1. Thanks for writing. Rosa Romanin is my maternal great grandmother. Unfortunately, I don't have any information on her and as far as I know she never came to the U.S. It is possible we are related - my mom used to talk to her cousins in Argentina. I would like to talk/email with you about our possible connection, please leave me your name and email address - I will not publish it! Hope you hear from you soon.
